What are Voles?
Voles are small brown rodents that are often mistaken for small field mice and are found throughout the United States including New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Voles are related to lemmings and hamsters but with a stouter body, a long hairy tale with small beady eyes. They only grow to about 3″ to 9″ depending on the species.
They live underground and typically travel through tunnels that they create across your front lawn or backyard. They can easily damage your home or business’s landscaping efforts, plants, trees grass that they can destroy very quickly without making any noise.
They are known for destroying your lawn by creating small holes in your yard. Sometimes they resemble an above-ground tunnel that spans across the yard in straight lines.
